Captain Kang McAlmatov and Sergeant Taner Demetriou are on the run, branded as traitors by the corrupt elements within the United Worlds Accord military. With them are Professor Eleanor Gainsborough, whose parapsychic sensitivity appears to have led to a mental breakdown, and Majorette, a cyboid who has recently killed her owner. Repairing damage to the Dragonfly, they are confronted by a dangerous cybot, a mining drone repurposed as a war machine. They also have Snake, an Æsynja girl on their trail with vengeance in her heart... Where can they turn for help?
